A few years ago, Don Gregorio Lara Armenta's friends -father of the
actual owner, Raúl Lara Juarez- started to call him "El Garrobo"
because of the very dark color of his skin ; color he acquired fishing all day when this
activity was pretty much the main source of work. So it's in his honor that, 18 years
later, we chose to call our Restaurant Garrobos. |

The specialty of Garrobos
is seafood. All kinds of fish are selected everyday for you to get the freshest food. Of
course, on our menu you´ll also find meat and poultry, all prepared with the same care
and savoir-faire.

Some of our specialties are... The famous Paella
Garrobos style, Spaghetti Marinero, Huachinango a la Zihuatlan, Fish
fillet in Almond sauce, Tacos del Patrón. Come and taste our cuisine, our
menu is full of delicious surprises.
Moreover, the famous Tiritas (Fish fillet, onion, pepper and lemon juice
marinated fish strips) were born in this port, at the pier, to be more exact. You can
ask Don Raúl, and he'll tell you the whole story.
